How to make a Travel insurance claim

Travel policies cover different circumstances, and the cover under each policy is different. Your policy will cover some or all of the situations below depending on the level of cover that you have purchased and you should consult your policy documents for more details.

Legal liability

IIf you need to cancel your trip before you travel

You will need to supply:

  • Policy details
  • Booking invoice
  • Cancellation invoice
  • Evidence of the need to cancel
  • Further medical information may be required. Any charges for this must be borne by you.

Curtailment

If you need to return home early from your trip

If you are delayed at your outward departure point

  • Letter from the carrier showing the length and reason for delay

If you are accidentally injured or die during your trip

We will need:

  • Policy details
  • Booking invoice
  • Medical information regarding the injury
  • Further medical information may be required. Any charges for this must be borne by you.

Medical expenses

If you incur medical expenses during your trip

You will need to supply:

  • Original receipts for expenses being claimed
  • Further medical information may be required. Any charges for this must be borne by you.

Baggage delay

If your checked-in baggage does not arrive with you on time

  • Report from the airline (Property Irregularity Report)
  • Original receipts for essential purchases
