How to make a Travel insurance claim

Seven easy steps to settlement...

  1. Ring the claims number as shown in your travel insurance policy booklet, information pack or information card as issued with your policy
  2. Please have details of your policy number and relevant contact details available when you call
  3. Details of your claim will be taken by one of our dedicated customer service advisors. You will be asked to provide information to help us settle your claim as quickly as possible
Find out what sort of information we will need to know for you to make a claim.
  4. You will be told what to do next and what original documents to send to support your claim. We recommend that you keep copies of all the documents you send to us
  5. Your claims guidance form will be sent for you to complete, sign and return with the required documents
  6. Should your claim, or part of it, not be covered, a customer services advisor will tell you why
  7. Your claim will be assessed and finalised in accordance with the policy terms and conditions

Policy limits:

There are limits for single articles and 'valuables' under your policy. This means that there is only limited cover for valuable items such as jewellery and photographic or video equipment. Your policy will give you a full list of what is classed as a 'valuable' item.

Excess:

An excess is the amount that you will have to pay towards any claim. Please check your policy if you are unsure how much your excess is.

Medical claims:

All claims resulting from accidental bodily injury, illness, quarantine or death must be supported by medical reports or a death certificate (or both as applicable).

Baggage claims:

In the event of a claim being made for personal effects or money, original receipts or original evidence of ownership must be produced.

For all claims:

We may need to ask you for additional information in order to finalise your claim.
