General Medical

Please submit entries from the entire field of medical endeavour and healthcare, including scientific and technological development, public policy, human interest or any related topic. Items submitted from national, regional press or online must be in one of the following subsections:

Consumer News

Print or online news stories about, or of interest to patients, and/or the general public.

Trade News

Print or online news stories concerning medical or healthrelated issues that are of interest to medical or financial professionals

Consumer Feature

In-depth feature or comment piece from print or online, primarily about or of interest to patients and/or the general public.

Trade Feature

In-depth feature or comment piece from print or online, concerning medical or health related issues that are of interest to medical or financial professionals

Best Newcomer - Material which meets the criteria above and is written by entrants who have had their first health related article published within the last three years can be entered into this category (student publications will not be considered).

You will need to submit one original and three clearly legible copies (max size, A3 un-mounted), each clearly marked with the name of the publication and the date of appearance. If the item does not include the writer's by-line, it must be editorially certified as required on the entry form.

Without all copies, your entry will be considered incomplete.

The journalist who wins the category, will receive £1,000 in prize money. The Best Newcomer will win £750.
