Once you have completed the online forms and payment you are able to print all the paperwork from the site immediately.
2. Can I get access to instant cover?
Yes you can, after following the application process on this website.
3. Can I use Norwich Union's Short Term Insurance policy to obtain a UK road fund licence?
No. Whilst short term insurance certificates provide evidence of insurance in the format prescribed by the Road Traffic Act legislation, DVLA or UK Post Offices will not accept these certificates for road fund licence purposes.
4. Can I arrange cover for a date in the future?
Yes, cover can be arranged up to 28 days in advance.
5. Can I arrange cover for a date in the past?
No, the earliest date and time available to commence the short term insurance cover is the current date and time as determined by the server, which is updated according to Internet time servers.
Payment of premiums is by secure credit/debit card transaction only.
7. Can I drive the vehicle abroad?
As a standard, the minimum level of insurance required (usually third party only) applies in any country which is a member of the European Union.
In addition, European cover is available at an additional premium for cars registered in the UK.

9. Is it safe to use my credit/debit card on your site?

10. What happens in the event of an accident?
If you are involved in an accident, you can telephone the claims unit on 0800 783 1703, where you will be required to provide full details of the claim including any witnesses and crime reference numbers. Lines are open 24 hours a day. You must contact the police if you are involved in an accident involving injury to another person.
11. Am I entitled to any no claims discount (NCD)?
This is a flat rate short period policy and it is not subject to NCD discount on the daily premium.
12. Will I have to disclose any claim incurred under this arrangement to my current insurer?
Yes. You are obliged to disclose all material facts to your current or any future insurer prior to renewal. Failure to do so could invalidate your insurance.
13. Can a policy be issued for more than 28 days?
No. This short term insurance facility provides cover for a maximum of 28 days, for any one vehicle in any 12 month period. If you require annual cover please call us on 0800 092 9561 or via our car insurance offering.

You must contact the police if:
- Your car has been stolen (you must also keep a note of the crime reference number).
- You are involved in an accident involving injury to another person.
Your vehicle will be repaired at a Norwich Union approved repair centre.
15. How do I cancel the policy?
You can cancel this policy at any time by returning the certificate of motor insurance. However, because of the short period nature of this insurance there will be no refund of the premium.
16. Is Norwich Union covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme?
Our obligations are covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS). If we were unable to meet our obligations, you could be entitled to compensation from this scheme, depending on the type of insurance and the circumstances at the time.
