When and how will you pay the bonuses?


We'll add the first special bonus to eligible customers' policies at the end of this year. And for eligible customers who are still invested in these same funds on 1 January 2009 and 2010, there's even more good news. They'll be awarded with the second and third special bonuses.

If you have an eligible policy that matures between a qualification and bonus award date, the special bonus will be added by increasing your final bonus. If your policy ends for any reason before one of the qualification dates, you will not receive that special bonus, or any other special bonus after that date.

The table below shows when the special bonus for each qualification date will be added to policies:

Important to know

  • The special bonuses are added to eligible policies and will increase the policy value - they're not paid in cash.
  • The size of the bonus eligible customers receive depends on the value of their investment in the funds on the qualifying dates. This could be higher or lower than the value of their investment today.
  • New investments including increases to regular premiums, additional single premiums or switches made into the relevant funds on or after 1 January 2008 do not qualify for a special bonus.
