Making a Claim
What to remember if you need to make a claim...
If you have a Norwich Union travel insurance policy, here's what you do if you need to make a claim.
Just follow our five steps for making a claim:
- Claims: please call the claims number in your travel insurance policy booklet and on the helpline card that we issued you with.
- Medical emergency: if you need emergency medical treatment, contact us as soon as you can on (+44) 1603 208 044 - we'll refer you to a hospital and pay directly for any treatment you need.
- Documents: keep all your documents safe. Remember we'll need medical reports, travel tickets and tags, crime reports or death certificates to help us process your claim.
- Baggage: report lost or stolen baggage within 24 hours.
- Ask for a crime report from the local police to send with your claim.
- We'll also ask for original receipts or original evidence of ownership.
- If your airline loses your luggage, ask for a property report, write to the airline giving them notice within the time limit in their conditions of carriage. Keep a copy for yourself and keep all travel tickets and tags for the claim.
- Processing: we'll assess and finalise your travel insurance claim in line with the policy terms and conditions.
