Fork lift jib attachment

Note: The period of inspection for an attachment is slightly different. If, like this example, the attachment is slide on (not permanently attached, it is treated as an accessory for lifting and inspected on a 6 monthly basis. If however it is affixed to the equipment in a more permanent manner, i.e. bolted to the machine. It takes on the frequency of the machine. i.e. 12 months. Except if the item bolted was for lifting persons. Then the entire machine would need inspecting every 6 months.

Fork lift truck

Note: Unless it is used with a lifting platform to lift persons. It would then require a 6 month inspection for the fork truck and the "attachment" used for the safe lifting of persons - often referred to as "lifting cage". The cage would also require to be inspected every 6 months.

Front-end loader

Note: Because the tail board would be used by the operator to gain access to the back of the lorry. (These could be inspected on a 12 month basis but only if it can be ensured no persons would use the tailboard to be lifted / lowered).
